Hi, I can connect to most of the nodes I try but once in awhile I will find nodes that will give me a connection failed. I’m just wanting to learn and educate myself more and would like to know why this happens ? Thank you.
Could be many things,
But I think the odds are that you have a private node connected to the node in question that is already connected to the network you are attempting to connect.
It is not wise to use the standard example 1999 private node number, but an arbitrary number like 1921 to reduce the odds.
But for a test, just disconnect your private nodes before attempting the connection again.
But so you know it does not have to be a private node. Any node you may have connected that someone in the target connection path will prevent the connection.
It is a ‘loopback’ prevention for the network.
