Hello all. I’m wondering if anyone has created a script/s to perform disconnect and reconnect. In our System there are roughly 15 Repeaters. On occasion one Repeater will become active for long periods of time. When that happens all 15 Repeaters continue to transmit for the duration.
What I’m looking to accomplish is:
1. An automatic (timer based) disconnect of the active Repeater from the rest of the Network of Repeaters after a 10 minute (adjustable) or so period when no other Repeaters have joined the conversation.
2.An automatic Re-Connect to the Network of Repeaters when the conversations on the single Repeater cease after 5 minutes (adjustable).
3.The ability for a Networked Repeater to rejoin the disconnected Repeater with the standard connect protocol from their side.
When this happens is it at the same time each day? Is it only one repeater causing the issue?
Yes, there are several ways to disconnect the repeater from the rest of the system then reconnect them back together. It depends on how you would like to do it. Either a timed event in the scheduler in the rpt.conf file or thru the crontab -e. We also need to know which allstar are you running. is it ASL3 or Hamvoip?
Hello and thanks for the response. This is not any one repeater in our System. All repeaters , usually 15, are normally connected together. HamVoip is the distro we are running everywhere. We need an automatic disconnect from the networked repeaters if the one repeater becomes active for a timer controlled period AND no activity has come from the Networked Repeaters. At that point we would like to have that single, active Repeater disconnected so the people talking to each other can continue without the whole network being lit up.
When they are done using the repeater and after another timed period of silence or nop activity we want that repeater to rejoin the network at large.
