CM108 Mods, Im rubbish at soldering

Hello,

As subject I have broken 3 fobs so far trying to mod them for a GM360 radio.

I have my node setup, working and ready to go MB7IGV, Im registered with All Star and I think that Im good to go.

As I cannot get a fob working due to my lack of skill, what options do I have please?

73s de 2D0PEY.

Sometimes its easier to buy rather than build

Several people in the USA make CM108 based radio interfaces.

Not in any preferred order:

  1. Allscan Communications: allscan.info
  2. Masters Communications: RA Series Radio Adapter Index Page
  3. Hotspot Radios: ARiUSB5
  4. Toads Digital Interface: TOADs Digital Interface – Temporarily Offline.

The big question would be what are the duties and taxes to be added on top in order to ship to the UK. You'd probably have to contact each vendor and find out. They also might have a dealer in the UK who can sell to you directly.

Thank you, your probably right.

The only other thing Im not 100% clear on is what sound device I need to get for the radio that I have, or do they kind of all work?

2D0PEY.

If I'm not mistaken, the GM360 is the Euro equivalent of the US CDM1550 so yes, any URI/RIM should work. Just a matter of programming the accessory port and codeplug correctly.

There's a wealth of information on Repeater Builder for the Motorola "Waris" CDM750/CDM1250/CDM1550 Radios.

I'm using 2 CDM1250s in my setup.

The RIM_Maxtrac will plug directly into the rear of the Motorola Maxtrac/GM300/CDM series radio. (with the radios with 20 pin connectors, plug it into the center 16 pins)
More info here: Repeater Builder USB-RIM Lite
scroll down on the page to find the RIM_Maxtrac.

Thank you all, a Ham in the UK sent me one and now MB7IGV is fully up and operational

Brilliant callsign, BTW...

LOL, thank you, it was deliberate
