Choppy Audio

Hello, ...

Issues with audio on ASL 1.01 GIT version 004b9dd
Usually issue clears up after reboot, was happening every few months, now
seems every day/few days...
This does not appear to be network issue, as ID's and courtesy tones, local
audio files, are also impacted.

Using DSP aka usbradio
issue is heard even via phone portal
using standared URI
Single Node
4.9.0-6-686-pae Kernel
Intel Atom CPU 1.8Ghz

Mark,

I experience the same issue while using RTCM’s, an altogether different audio interface. The issue typically resolves on its own. While not an answer to your question, it does further support the issue.

Mark,

Well those numbers look okay for txmixaset and txmixbset.

If they both totaled over 1000 then I was thinking it could be an issue.

Just thought I would run this test, ran for 5,000 count. the summary… This is while connected to an active node and there is traffic going at that time,

The command was: dahdi_test -c 5000

— Results after 4883 passes —

Best: 100.000% – Worst: 99.207% – Average: 99.950227%

Cumulative Accuracy (not per pass): 99.996

**Thought I would see if anyone had more ideas what is going on here? Why the audio gets choppy sometimes, even the local telemetry/ID gets that way. **

It’s unusual to have choppy audio on a non-pi. Can you try it with simpleusb just to see if it clears up?

Wondering what the outcome was. I have several nodes with this issue. I am usb radio (dsp) and prefer to keep it that way. Or is it just not enough horsepower for a 3+?
