Changing Wifi SSID

Hello Folks,

I have a node setup with a RPi. It is configured on my home network SSID. I am traveling and too the node with me. IS there a way for me to reconfigure the SSID without being connected to a network? When I power the unit up it will obviously not connect to the WIFI at my remote location bcs the credentials are not programmed in.

I would like to avoid reprogramming the unit jsut to change the SSID.

Thanks in advance.

This is what I do.. makes it easy. The hotspot you are gonna use match the SSID and password the same as the node is connecting at home/ham shack

Thank you That would not be an option in this instance. Best!

google is your friend. It's just a rpi os.

Do you know the credentials but just can't see it or do you not know? In the former, you can easily add a network just by its name and passkey in Cockpit. In the latter, can you pair it to your phone as a hotspot tether and when you get there, then reprogram it from your phone.

Right now I have re flashed the SD card with the credentials from the new location. I am not able to see the RPi on the network though I am sure the SSID and PW are correct.

Easy: configure your phone hotspot to serve the node. When you get to the location, connect a laptop to the same hotspot and configure on-site.

Easy: get a travel router. Configure the node to connect to it, also your laptop. Connect to the local Wi-Fi, use the laptop if necessary to get on their Wi-Fi.

Less easy: obtain a small monitor and keyboard, take them along and configure on-site.

Less easy still: configure your laptop with Internet Connection Sharing and connect it to the node, configure on-site.

Which of these makes sense to you?
