My node won’t connect to the WiFi so I can’t connect to update. How can I change this as I don’t have a Ethernet connection.
I connect to the TV and it takes me to a allstar 3 login but as I can’t connect i can’t change anything.
It was a prebuilt node and was tested on another WIFI network so I know its operating correctly.
Any help please as I’m Very clueles How this all works
If you can put monitor and keyboard on it, login with your account, and run sudo nmtui. That's the text interface. Should be straightforward to add a connection and restart.
Yes I can get a monitor on it, not sure on keyboard but that may be a faulty one I have. I’ll give it a try
If unable to do what @N8EI suggested, you could also make a WiFi hotspot from your phone and rename it to the known WiFi network's credentials so your Pi can then auto connect to it. Then connect a laptop or pc to that same hotspot and access the dashboard of the node from there. You could use an IP scanner tool on the laptop/pc to find out what IP the node is accessible at.
Your node IS a Linux system; that's the Linux login terminal.
Sorry as I said I’m not up to scratch with these things. So does this mean the node will need to be re-imaged? As mentioned it was working and showing up on all start, but I can’t get it on the WiFi at all.
I wouldn't necessarily say that until you log in and run some commands. Why don't you log in and run the command Jason suggested, and see if you can add a Wi-Fi network...
EDIT: If the keyboard you're trying isn't working (which is odd...), I would think at minimum you have to get a keyboard that works to be able to talk to the thing. If someone built this node for you, I would've expected the person to ask you for your Wi-Fi credentials to pre-add them for you.
It’s a standard usb keyboard out of the box so I thought it was strange why it wouldn’t work. I presume I can just type? If the ports on the router are being blocked would that cause this issue?
Ports have nothing to do with your USB bus.

I should add when you're typing the username to login, you would see it but you wouldn't see your password on the screen as you type it. A direct connection with a keyboard and monitor doesn't require the Wi-Fi to be working. I mean, unless you've got a wireless keyboard or something like that, which of course wouldn't work.
No it’s straight usb cable keyboard. So would the cursor move as I type as it just flashes
First off, I would suggest you look over the ASL Manual : Logins and Passwords page.
As for how to login to your system/node, I think we need to take a step back and ask a few questions. What type of system/node do you have? It sounds like you purchased a pre-configured system. What information did you need to provide when you placed the order? Were there any printed details included with the package you received? What you are looking for right now is what Linux login/password was setup when the system/node was configured. ... and if you don't have that info, maybe reach out to the vendor who sold you the system.
At the login: prompt you should see any letters that you type. At the password: prompt, you will not see anything.
Oh ok well I don’t see anything when typing but when I flash the node up a light on the keyboard blinks. Yes system preconfigured allstar node on a Raspberry PI 3A+. All passwords for allstar dashboard, allmon ,node and my WiFi were provided and printed and sent with the node WiFi details match. I’ve been in contact and he states node was working, yes I’ve seen it live and it was showing online at the time. He suggested an error my end but I can’t see what
Most keyboards should "just work".
If you are seeing the login: prompt and type "abc" you should see "abc" (and the backspace should work too). After entering your login username you would press the Enter/Return key and be prompted for the "password:". If you don't get any response from your keyboard actions I would try another keyboard.
Also, you are plugging the keyboard's USB cable directly into the Raspberry Pi, correct?

For logging into at the [Debian Linux] login: prompt you most likely would want to use the "allstar dashboard" credentials (not the "allmon" info, not the "node" info, and not the "WiFi" info).
Please know that both the login and password strings are case sensitive (lower/upper case matters). Also, watch out for the difference between the letter "O", and the digit "0".
yeah rasp PI 3+. Brand new keyboard and nope abc doesn’t work either so I could always try another I guess. But the lights did flash on boot up
No use with keyboard which is strange as the lights flash on boot. Would my node settings on allstar effect anything?
