I am using a XPR 4380 as a repeater transmitter paired with a kenwood tk-981 as the receiver and RM_Lite to interface with allstar.
I am working on getting a mixed mode set up running and I need to use asl3 to send the pl to the transmitter. I am fairly confident I have usbradio.conf set up correctly to do this but the pl is not being transmitted with audio. I've tried various combos of the following settings and haven't had luck.
I am not super familiar with XpRs, but my first thought would be to make sure the transmitting radio is set up for flat audio. No filters, no processing. I bet ASL3 is sending the PL, and the radio is filtering it out.
I just happened to double check all of that a few minutes ago and everything is set to flat with no audio enhancements or filtering enabled. (it's been awhile since I checked all of that)
I am also inclined to say that the radio is filtering it out. The only other radios I have here to test with are also xpr models. I've tried just about every combo of things that I think it could be.
I am assuming that allstar will produce the pl tone even if it isn't seeing it on the rx side? If that makes sense... What I am thinking is if for some reason my receiver isn't sending the pl with the audio to allstar that just by having the txctcssdefault=156.7 set allstar will generate that tone. Because this was something else that I was thinking might be happening.
I know this is kind of an oddball situation with quite a few variables that might be preventing this from working.
