I'm having an issue with my public node not being able to connect to any remote nodes.

When I try connecting to a remote node I get this

I have my port forwarding setup, I can connect to a local node on the same computer.

After some troubleshooting it appears to be an authentication issue. My node is not perceived as registered. Where do I go next in my troubleshooting?
