One of my nodes running the latest hamvoip, I have noticed that while using chanusb (configured to do ctcss decoding) every time a user unkeys there is a ‘fart like’ sound at the very end of their transmissions.
Is the rpi3b not able to handle dsp processing that well?
I plan to migrate to ASL3 on a rpi3b using the chanusb…However, if a rpi4 8gb is better at this please comment below.

With regards to a Pi4, I’m using a Pi4 with ASL3 and memory usage, for the entire system, is about 430 MiB. So don’t waste your money on an 8 GB model! This node also runs Allmon3 connecting to two other nodes. I actually made a script to watch memory usage. It changes up and down a bit here and there, but no leaks, and very low usage overall.
I’d be surprised if a Pi3B can’t handle chan_usbradio. But I have not tested it yet.
