I've been writing "astar" and open source (AGPL3) mac allstarlink WT client. It's to the point I need some beta testers to help find the rough edges. People should be willing to file bugs so I can fix them. I've been using it quite a bit for the past month in joining nets in Allstarlink and M17. Bug reports should be filed in github.
There's a beta release with an Apple signed dmg file, to make it easy to install. It support M1 macs and later (sorry Intel).
It support M17 and the WT mode for allstarlink out of the box. Node to node connection will probably not be supported in the client due to CGNAT. Instead I think a better solution is to run a cheap VPS with an easy to setup server to support Allstarlink -- which is also in progress. I have a parrot running on 69586. This is a custom server (written in rust) that also needs testing, it is currently running on an IONOS $3/mo vps which I'm sure IONOS is going to remove any day now.
