ASL3 Install on Raspberry Pi Zero 2W RESOLVED! using the incorrect board! Bought Pi zero 2W, got Pi zero W and did not notice!

Hello, I tried to install ASL3 on Pi Zero 2w with Pi imager application 1.8.5. I could not get the Pi to boot. I then did a Linux 12 debian bookworm install and SUDO apt update, upgrade all fine. I then installed ASL3 but asl3-asterisk says not installable. Any ideas on how to fix or proceed?
TIA

From that screenshot, it’s hard to know why that’s happening since is a custom system. However why didn’t you use the image?

The Image file (allstar3-arm64-3.0.13.img.xz) for Pi imager application 1.8.5. did not get the Pi to boot. This is an updated/upgraded Linux 12 debian bookworm install on the Pi zero 2W.

There are many people using the image. I’d be curious what “did not get the Pi to boot” means and if you let it run long enough to do all of it’s firstboot activities (takes 3-4 minutes).

I can’t help you with the error without more information about what the state of the system is. The package is marked not to be installed for some non-standard reason.

Thank you for your replies. “Did not boot” means the square rainbow image was persistent on the attached screen with no other activity for 10+ minutes. Pi zero 2W had a repeat LED sequence of 7 flashes ON/OFF… If for example I use the Legacy Raspberry Pi OS image file from the Pi Imager program selection options I get a good boot… Alas, that does not lead to ASL3 install of course. Do you know of or could you point me to someone who had success? I would be happy to query them on this issue. I am confident I used the correct Install manual procedure numerous times with the same Non-booting symptom’s as described. Thank you.

The Legacy image you chose to install is 32-bit. For ASL3, you must use the 64-bit version of Debian Linux.

… and I’ve been using the ASL3 Pi Image on a Pi Zero 2 W since the first release.

The Image file (allstar3-arm64-3.0.13.img.xz) for Pi imager application 1.8.5. did not get the Pi to boot. I tried the .12 and .11 with no love.

Are certain that you are using a Pi Zero 2 W (and not a Pi Zero W) ?

… and I’m asking because I once made that mistake

OMG! I just took my case apart on the last 2 Pi’s I got and they are Pi Zero W V1.1 2017…

so sorry for causing you wasted time! Imagine that… I ordered 2W… got W

It happens. You can still use the Pi’s for Debian 32-bit or Raspbian … but NOT for ASL3.

I took a real Pi zero 2W from another project and successfully imaged with Pi Imager XXX.13 and installed ASL3. Jeezz, I feel like such a fool.

We’ve all been there.
