ASL3 ID unreliable, connpgm / discpgm not working

Hello,

Issue #1:
Working on a PI4B with 2 RF nodes. I’ve noticed that when the ID is sent (CWid or audio file), often the ID will be interrupted after a second or so and stop playing while the PTT remains keyed. I have tested several conditions such as making sure node #2 was inactive when the ID problem occurred on node #1. Audio between the 2 nodes when connected seems excellent FWIW.

Issue #2: connpgm / discpgm do not seem to work. I’ve used these for many years but I cannot get them to do anything, even touch a file:

connpgm = touch /dev/shm/connpgm

One other observation, ASL3 does not appreciate setting idrecording to null in rpt.conf or to comment it out altogether. It will cause the node(s) to immediately activate the timeout timer. I have always disabled IDs on my hub nodes by commenting this parameter. Given the new structure of rpt.conf, I tried setting this only on the RF nodes and set idtime = 0 on the hub node.

Thanks. 73
