We were hoping to disable port 80 for added security.
This will mean the Web Portal is not available.
I am trying to find how to edit the firewall on the console.
The firewall is NOT UFW, ' sudo ufw status ' returns , command not found.
The ASL firewall page indicates the use of ' firewalld ' service, but
' sudo firewall -cmd --state ' returns command not found, and
' sudo systemctl states firewall ' returns firewall.service could not be found?
Where is the firewall, and how do I edit it from the console?
The ASL Pi Appliance uses firewalld(1) for both CLI and GUI/Cockpit configuration harmony. The Pi Appliance comes by default with a policy zone named allstarlink that is applied to all interfaces on the appliance. There are many good online references. The main command to interact with it from the CLI is firewall-cmd.
Well, sorry, I don't use asl3 on Pi's and I see no notes in the manual for that difference.
How would one know. Guessing that is how the later raspbian is.
Funny I did not see that before. I did look for it.
Perhaps I did not consider it a Pi appliance like other scripts specific to the Pi.
But I guess you gotta put it somewhere.
You can save your self time and frustration by going into your router and under port forwarding for that node. Change the external port to any number under 65535 and leave the internal one at 80 going to the ip for that node. that is how I run mine with multiple nodes on the system.
ex: Supermon 8085 80 192.168.1.x
| that is the external port
