ASL3.0.6 on Debian 12 it's running! Almon3 is a problem

I got new hardware and have built a node on a Raspberry Pi 4B that boots from an SSD. Debian (Boolworm) is up to date and I followed the user-guide instructions and Allmon3 instructions. I was able to SSH into the RPi/node and run asl-menu which I have done and configured the node using asl-menu. The node accepts a connection from RepeaterPhone.and from my other node. It appears in the portal. Yay!

Allmon3 installed on the node and configured as directed allows me to login using the username/password I set. Every command gives the same result “Command Error” undefined

Allmon3.ini
[node number]
host=the ip of the node
user=admin
pass=*********

Where should I look next?

Hi Steve, in an email I saw that a node# “12345” was showing up somewhere so it might be good to confirm your correct node# is in all places it should be. If you run the following commands you should then see the following output:

grep NODE# /etc/asterisk/*.conf

/etc/asterisk/extensions.conf:NODE = NODE# ; change this to your node number
/etc/asterisk/iax.conf:register => NODE#:PASS@register.allstarlink.org
/etc/asterisk/rpt.conf:[NODE#] (node-main)
/etc/asterisk/rpt.conf:rxchannel = SimpleUSB/[NODE#] ; SimpleUSB

sudo grep NODE# /etc/allmon3/*.ini

/etc/allmon3/allmon3.ini:[NODE#]

(“NODE#” above refers to your node number eg. 567890 or whatever.)

If your NODE# is not showing in all 5 of those locations that would definitely cause an issue. Or if it is listed correctly in all those places I’ll leave it to one of the Allmon experts here to make further suggestions on debugging.

Thanks for the suggestions, David. The node number was in all files with the exception of iax.conf where I edited it and the password into the register line and uncommented that line. I restarted Asterisk and Allmon3 and sadly, no change.

I installed the RPI-4B ASL3 Appliance along with ALLMON3 and ALLSCAN. All are operating nominally. I then used RPI-Clone to move the whole package to the 1Gb SSD and rebooted from the SSD.

Thank you for your support. I obviously have more to learn about Linux.
