ASL DTMF Commands on RF without an *

I think I know the answer to this one but just in case I am wrong?..

Can you create user commands that do not begin with an *…

I know you can make macros but they must all be proceeded with *5.

I’d like to emulate other systems where for example a DTMF 73 drops the connection.

Is this possible?

To my knowledge
a star ‘’ asterisk", is the key indicator that what follows is a system command.
There is no setting I m aware of to change that, short of a rewrite/recompile of the source code.

You should see built in commands for further reference in the wiki or the text of the source code.

The funcchar can absolutely be changed in rpt.conf, but I doubt it can be removed altogether:

funcchar=
This setting can be used to change the default function starting character of * to something else. Please note that the new value chosen must not be the same as the default or overridden value for endchar=.
