ASL crashes - Segmentation fault on Echolink connect

Hello,

A novice at ASL so kind support is humbly requested. I have installed ASL_1.01-20180417-amd64-i386-debian-stretch-netinst.iso on an intel atom, configured it and everything starts ok, can connect to and from different ASL nodes, have enabled echolink too and as soon as I connect to ASL node echolink from another account asterisk crashes and restarts,

You saying the crashes started after you added echolink? If so what happens if you rename echolink.conf to echolink.bak, restart asterisk and try an Allstar connection?

yes and that too when a connection is made to or from the echolink,

by renaming the echolink.conf to echolink.bak, the following line shows up while asl to asl connection have no issues.

Please have a look at our echolink page on the wiki. There are some set up and troubleshooting instructions there. Also closely recheck your echolink.conf file. Make sure the echolink module is loaded (check modules.conf). Let us know what you discover.

Update:
I didnt find anything wrong with the conf file config or anything other, the issue is with the 64bit install, I reinstalled ASL 32bit and used the same config, seems to be fine. Now shall configure the DMR gateway and keep monitoring it. I suspect the issue might be something with the 64bit.

Update:
I have reinstalled the 64bit and 32bit, both configs are identical in hardware and software configs, the 64bit crashed with Segmentation Fault as stated above while the 32bit runs perfectly.

That’s a new one. Are you ok running 32 bit?

would the 64bit install be better than the 32bit, please advise as I would love to have what ever works and is stable as we are testing hardware and software for a repeater installed on a mountain top and would be a pain to go up and reinstall/troubleshoot if remote access freezes up. Will be testing the RPI image of ASL on a pi3 on monday.

I’m seeing a similar segfault after being connected to an echolink node for around 10 mins. I have no issues with AllStar operation, which has been running for a few years now.
This is a RPi2 running AllStar_Link Raspbian image on which I have recently enabled EchoLink, using the AllStar-Link wiki info.
I cannot find an asterisk-debug package to get a meaningful back trace when the segfault happens. Where will I find it? (or what is it called?)
FWIW here is what I have so far, this was without transmitting (to the net).
