ASL 2.0 Beta 2 modules.conf. file

I’ve managed to get ASL 2.0 Pi loaded to a microSD card and booted. Ran through ASL-MENU fine, configured for USBRadio… Now when I try to complete radio-tune-menu, it errors telling me I need to enable USBRadio. When I look at the ’ modules.conf ’ file, it looks like nothing is loaded, just a bunch of ’ NOLOAD ’ statements? The file also looks different than the previous ASL 1.0 modules.conf.

Don’t you have a chan_usbradio.so around line 127 or so? If you do just remove the no from noload and restart.

  125 noload => chan_sip.so ;                         Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)
    126 noload => chan_tlb.so ;                         TheLinkBox Channel Driver
    127 noload => chan_usbradio.so ; CM1xx USB Cards with Radio Interface Channel Driver (DSP)
    128 noload => chan_usrp.so ; GNU Radio interface USRP Channel Driver
    129 noload => chan_voter.so ;                       Radio Voter Channel Driver

After completing ’ asl-menu ', this is my entire 'modules.conf ’ file:

I know there are problems with menu. Maybe that’s what messed it up. In any case grab your ASL 1.01 modules.conf and you should be good.

I had the same problem. Try running it outside of asl-menu. /usr/sbin/radio-tune-menu

This is completely weird because I just did an install from the beta .iso on Vultr and the modules.conf file was fine.

Also I and another AllStar volunteer looks at the menus and there no indication that it would corrupt modules.conf.

I have ASL 2.0 working…with one question. First, It became obvious that something was awry on my end! It turns out the voltage to the Pi was dipping below 4.8v during boot. I ordered new 2.4A microSD cables, and now it stays above 5.1v. Asl 2 loaded fine, and ASL MENU seemed to write the files OK, with some tweaking necessary ( like the PL tone was not set ). Then. radio-tune-menu also worked. I had a working repeater, but NO rpt audio. I found duplex = 0 at the bottom of usbradio.conf. Setting it to 1 enabled repeat audio. So it is now working. The ’ modules.conf ’ file still looks wrong, as I posted above, but all IS working?? Strange. If I DO copy my old ’ modules.conf ’ to ASL2, and reboot, nothing works. In fact, asterisk itself cannot be started. I see that ’ autostart ’ is set to YES, and in the old modules file it was set to NO. Hope this helps!

The old modules.conf is definitely unsuitable with the latest beta.

We’ll have a fix in a few beta releases that will likely be compatible with the old modules.conf. But in the mean time the one packaged with the beta seems to work fine for most cases.
