APRS Setup - error mesg

I am using ASL3 on a RPI 4 - I have added my call sign and passcode to the gps.conf file

however in the asterisk message log I get ERROR[945] app_gps.c: You must specify call and password

from the gps.conf

call = M0PJA-8 ; Change this!

; The computed APRS-IS password for the above callsign. You can
; generate the password at N5DUX APRS Passcode Generator
;
password = XXXXX ; Change this!

What have i missed ?
