In addition to DVSwitch (on Android), can anyone chime in with updated info on what other phone apps or devices have started offering the equivalent of Node Mode (where the phone app or device assumes an otherwise unused node number and BECOMES the node, without needing to install ASL)?
I’ve heard or read rumblings about both Repeaterphone (iPhone) and M1KE (hardware device) possibly either doing it now or adding it soon.
Any info will help, as I have to advise others on a near-daily basis.
I'm not aware of node mode in RepeaterPhone (I have that one myself). AFAIK, it only uses WT mode, unless there's been recent additions. I can’t comment on M1KE, as I don’t own one.
As far as released products optimized for mobile/portability, DVSwitch Mobile and M1KE are all I know about.
Repeaterphone for iOS, and Transceive for Mac OS only support allstar-public (WT).
M1KE, like DVSM, can either use WT or register as a stand-alone node, as well as registering directly with a node using a local IAX stanza. Neither DVSM or M1KE will post node stats if registered as a node. Neither will accept incoming calls directly.
