As AllStarLink v3 continues to grow and improve, we’re pleased to announce updates and new software packages.
ASL3 Text-to-Speech 1.0
Introduction of the package asl3-tts and the asl-tts
command. This is a convenience wrapper around the Piper Text-to-Speech library to work well with asterisk. Documentation is forthcoming for the ASL Manual’s Text to Speech Page.
This is currently not installed with the Pi Appliance by default. It may be installed with sudo apt install asl3-tts
on any supported platform.
ASL3 v3.4.0
- Adds a PolicyKit ruleset to permit the
asterisk
user to issue host shutdown and restart commands as well as systemd service actions against theasterisk.service
andallmon3.service
systemd units (i.e. stop, start, restart, reload). This is more fully explained in the ASL3 Manual’s Permissions Section
ASL3-Update-Nodelist 1.5.1
- Removes extraneous “success” logging which is pointless and causes a ton of systemd journal rolls on pi appliances. The logging has no real point and reduces the output to the journal by 75%.
Sincerely,
AllStarLink
