Allmon3 - Public node showing as "Private or Unavailable"

Hello,

Our hub is running ASL3 with Allmon3 ver.1.4.1. on a VM.

I’m trying to track down why a public node, connected to the hub, is showing as “Private or Unavailable” in the description column. Node (43751) data exists in the output of https://allmondb.allstarlink.org/, it shows up in the stats.allstarlink.org bubble charts, and there is no [node-overrides] entry in /etc/allmon3/web.ini. All other public node descriptions are displaying properly.

Does allmon3 still use a locally cached copy of the astdb file? I can’t seem to find it.

Thanks,

Please upgrade to 1.4.2. There was a bunch of fixes to the node lookup code that may solve your problem. If, after that, it persists, please reply to the thread.

Allmon3 does not use a text file, it has an in-memory database that is updated every 15 minutes.

Upgrading Allmon3 to 1.4.2 did not fix the issue. I did not perform a full upgrade for all ASL packages, only Allmon3. I will try a full system upgrade during our maintenance window on Saturday.

Strangely, I also observed node 43751 missing in the RepeaterPhone app directory. I know that’s not your code, but thought I would mention it. In speaking with the repeater owner, he is not aware of anything special in his node registration on Allstar.

I will advise of any change after the full ASL upgrade and when the repeater reconnects to our hub later this week.

Thanks,

Oh a whim, try taking the | out of your Location field.

That was it!

Since | (pipe character) is used as a delimiter in the database dump, having it in the location field text was effectively adding an extra field to the row and confusing things. I recommended the owner also update his location entry for 43750.

Thanks for your help!
