20240720 - Package Updates - Beta Channel

As ASL3 continues to mature, the project will be releasing updates in stages. The first stage is used by developers. The second stage is a “beta” package channel for people who want to test fixes to their problems or get the “latest and greatest” as quickly as possible. However, before opting in to beta packages please carefully read Beta Testing about the caveats and potential pitfalls of beta packages.

The following software is available from the beta channel of ASL3 packages to address issues:

  • Fix issue where bad registration info leads to NULL dereference crash issue #353
  • app_rpt: Update to use DNS SRV record to fix directory issues with remotebase configurations issue #360

ASL3 Pi Appliance

  • Add guardrails against Pi-specific items to allow for clean installation on Debian 12

These packages are planned for promotion to production/main during the week of July 22nd absent any issues or problems with them.
