Hey everyone! My friend wrote this package for both ASL and HamVOIP images. It works pretty well. It has some options like custom CTs for a given weather alert, and a multicounty warning area for repeaters/nodes that extend past county lines. Go check it out!

I installed SkywarnPlus and recommend it. Instructions were easy to follow even amongst the many options. Options include having SkywarnPlus change the operation of your node including courtesy tone, ID, tail message, etc. I didn’t make any changes to my node configuration so I can’t vouch for those features.

I am surprised there are not many comments on this thread. Skywarn Plus is a HUGE upgrade to Autosky. Autosky worked for a while but skywarnplus fixed or added a lot of stuff autosky was missing.

I plan to install this on my ASL node BUT one question…when it makes it announcements, does it only locally or if there is a remote node connected, do the announcements go down the link as well? Is there a way to have it go to only certain linked nodes? I keep my main node on the ECR a lot…do NOT want anything headed to that! BUT my other personal rptrs that are linked in, I would like to have that go to them,

Thanks

It ONLY sends audio to LOCAL nodes (hosted on the same machine as SkywarnPlus) specified in the configuration file. It is not possible to send SkywarnPlus audio to REMOTE (linked) nodes.

I got it installed and working but, when it sends out alerts and warnings it doesn't speak the actual alert, just merely says updated information but that's it. Do I have to add wav files for it to speak the counties? Also, how do I get it to actually read the alert such as severe thunderstorm warning for such and such County out over the node? I went through the configuration set up and thought I had everything correct according to the documentation but maybe I'm missing something?

You need a voice api key that used to come from voicerss. That is no longer an option, hopefully the community will find a solution.
