That may have been the issue. I commented 99 out and left in my 996 command which manipulates a coup,e of scripts and a cron entry (as per Tom K5TRA) and it works. I can now reboot it remotely. I started today with a fresh ASL3 install and first thing was the update to 3.5 then added the scripts, etc.
Now it does work from a command line function (rpt fun 1999 *996) as well as from receiver *996
The only quirk is that a couple of times it couldn’t find the USB device and so while asterisk was running there was no in or out. A direct reboot of the PC fixed that.
Thanks for bearing with me on this. Still a mystery why the original V3 didn’t work.
