This is Linux talk for “you messed up my hostname or my hosts file”
That stanza is for registered nodes.[allstar-sys]
A private node is not a registered ASL Network connectable node.
See that which I posted above.
found the answer:
sudo nano /etc/hosts fro ask Ubuntu
changed host by adding new number on end of 56984 - 569840
Never seen anyone use a node number for a hostname.
I think they get this from HamRadioCrusader, I never saw anyone doing it until recently. I know, it doesn’t really make any sense to do this considering a host can (and usually does) have multiple node numbers. Add on the fact that new users will get confused and think they need to change their hostname when they change their node number or get an NNX (like in this thread)
The default directions for ASL suggest calling the host nodeNNNNN. If you’re running multiple nodes, presumably you don’t need guidance on what to call your systems…
Allmon3 Dashboard password working and connecting to other nodes , but not my private node : connection failed
Same questions as before. Please restart allmon3 with systemctl restart allmon3
and then provide the output of journalctl -xeu allmon3.service
.

the IAX-Client is not needed for a private node to be linked to the main node
they are using FQDN ad the host name but should not be.
I run 457430.nodes.allstarlink.org or since I run hamvoip
457430.ip.hamvoip.org works everytime
The only problem I have is my Allmon3 dashboard connects to normal nodes, but not to my private node 1999.
I t says node 1999 connection failed. Any one have ideas why this is happening?
i do the procedure reverse by connecting 1999 to 569840 , no connection, no audio
I did this again and now nothing in the journal.
systemctl restart allmon3, journalctl -xeu allmon3.service is Blank
This is not an Allmon3 problem at all then. You still have something misconfigured on your local system’s rpt.conf/iax.conf. Why do you need a private node at all?
to use DVSwitch on my Allstar node on UHF repeater
