No ptt in radio tune menu?

I just started up a new copy of the RPI image and am doing the usb radio settings (using radio-tune-menu). I find that I can flash the PTT using the “F” menu item ok. The repeater does key up. But, when I try to set the transmit deviation levels, the repeater does not key up (menu items 6 & 8)… The red LED does not come on.

The receive side seems to have worked ok.

Any ideas?

Sorry - I seem to have confused that command-line menu with the similar CLI menu. The one in the CLI does, in fact, key up the transmitter.
