Hello Everyone,

We have been running Allstarlink on our repeater for several years. We recently increased our power and have added receive only nodes to fill in the new area. Currently three receive only nodes are running with unique CTCSS tones.

I would like to convert to simple voter and eliminate multiple tones. I configured the repeater and one test node as described in the documentation. I cannot get it to vote. Turning on debug level 8 in Asterisk on both nodes show the RSSI values are being generated on each node. What I don't see is the receive only node sending it's RSSI value over the back channel link. I see both the repeater and receive node key up the repeater at the same time and the audio appears to be from the repeater only. I have compared the RSSI values from each node during the same transmission and the calculated RSSI values vary with distance from the transmit source as expected.

I cannot find in depth documentation on the simple voter protocol other than the one page wiki and there are no searches that show anyone else is having issues. I have double checked that I have done everything required in the configuration (that I know of). Could someone point me at more detailed documentation (I have looked at the source code) or provide trouble shooting tips.

The simple in simple voting seems to me me...

Thanks in advance,
Roy
W0REW

This is described in the manual: [Simple Voter - AllStarLink Manual](https://allstarlink.github.io/adv-topics/simplevoter/)

Also, do have the nodes marked as `VOTE` in the `[nodes]` stanzas on every host involved?

Thanks for the response. I had followed the directions in the manual as I understood them.

Repeater:
usbradio.conf
sendvoter = 1 ; 0=default, no voter SSI, 1=enable voter
rpt.conf
429820 = radio@127.0.0.1:4569/429820,NONE,VOTE
429826 = radio@172.17.0.250:4565/429826,NONE,VOTE
.....
votertype=1 ; 0=default, no voting, 1=voter repeater, 2=voter receiver
votermode=2 ; 0=default, no voting, 1=voter one-shot, 2=voter continuous
votermargin=30

Voting Private Node
usbradio.conf
sendvoter=1
rpt.conf
429826 = radio@127.0.0.1:4565/429826,NONE,VOTE
429820 = radio@192.168.2.20:4569/429820,NONE,VOTE
.....
votertype=2 ; 0=default, no voting, 1=voter repeater, 2=voter receiver
votermode=2 ; 0=default, no voting, 1=voter one-shot, 2=voter continuous

The node is connected half duplex. The audio is good when using the node with a different CTCSS. With simple voter configured it looks like the repeater is not using audio from the the receive node.

If there is something additional to do please let me know.

Thanks,
Roy
