Asterisk is capable of sending DTMF in the dialplan.
I have always had issues with it sending in the rpt channel from the dialplan, but I have not tested it in asterisk 20 either which is asl3. Asterisk command ‘SendDTMF’, you can look it up in the asterisk manual. But I ‘think’ that may be why it was built-in to asl that way.
