Dpkg-dist config copies

After a software update (ASL3 on Pi), I'm seeing some x.conf.dpkg-dist copies of a few config files. Why are they in /etc/asterisk and is there any issue with them being deleted?

Assuming you're using the ASL3 Appliance image, that's set to never prompt for overwriting changed config files or replacing anything. In that instance, it drops the .dpkg-dist file in case you need it. You can safely remove them.

Thanks for the reply. That's what I thought. Nothing was overwritten, just the added dpkg-dist files. 'Haven't seen that in previous updates. I'll delete them.

While you can delete them, you “may” want to confirm nothing new has been added to these files that you want add to your existing files.

It’s worth comparing the two files.
