There exists a configuration when using the VOTER (RTCM) protocol that can use "redundant" servers to presumably provide more reliability.
See this explanation in the manual of how this is supposed to work.
My question to the AllStarLink Community is, does anyone actually use this configuration/feature?
I am trying to find a use case where it actually would provide the stated redundancy. As it stands right now, in 2026, I believe it would have to be some real obscure edge case for your internet connections to be broken to make this work as intended.
I have doubts that the source code currently works properly for this feature, as it is quite a complicated state machine, making it difficult to test. In fact, I expect that it is probably broken, and no one has complained about it not working... leading me to think no one actually uses it.
Hence this post to the AllStarLink Community, to initiate discussion on whether this is a feature that is working, and is being actively used.
Otherwise, I am considering removing the support for this feature, as it would considerably simplify the channel driver code, making it easier to maintain.
