Dialing a 5 digit node issue

When did you do that install?

I installed the ASL3 RPi image (allstar3-arm64-3.0.10.img) on the same RPi I tried apt install asl3.
I used the same node number (2149)

raspberrypiCLI> rpt show version
app_rpt version: 3.0.1
raspberrypi
CLI> core show version
Asterisk 20.8.1+asl3-3.0.2-1.deb12 built by builder @ allstarlink.org on a aarch64 running Linux on 2024-07-07 22:46:48 UTC

After booting, I used asl-menu to configure node.

*342565 works fine.

All of my testing was done over the last couple of days. I have always done “apt install asl3”
I have always only used asl-menu to configure node.

Installed tmate on my Mac but no idea what to do with it. Give me a clew.

No need. If I installed it on a host then you just ssh to a reverse ssh proxy. Use the VM IP I sent.

Wise-3040*CLI> rpt fun 2149 *342564
[2024-07-25 18:23:36.459] DEBUG[3122]: app_rpt/rpt_config.c:395 node_lookup_bydns: Resolving DNS SRV records for: _iax._udp.4256.nodes.allstarlink.org

Should be resolving for _iax._udp.42565.nodes.allstarlink.org Something is truncating the lookup.

@N4IRS Thanks for keeping folks updated on this.

Further details: we found that the problem only happens if all of the following are true

  • Lookup is set to dns: node_lookup_method = dns.
  • There are only 4 digit nodes on the server.
  • Connecting with DTMF. ie will occur rpt fun ... but will not occur with rpt cmd ...

We have a fix in the works and expect get it out this week.
