Bridgecom BCM Mobile with Allstar

Hi All:

Anyone using a Bridgecom BCM Mobile - specifically using the Data Input pin (Pin 2) of the DB-15 to inject audio directly into the modulator?

Cheers!

OK update / reply to my own post here so that the info is available for the next person who goes looking for it…

Pin 2 on the Bridgecom BCM mobile - aka the ‘Broadband Data Input’ pin did not pass a 1K tone, no matter how much I increased the input signal.

Resorting to Pin 5 (MIC Input), this works much better, but of course is super sensitive (‘gainy’), so I padded the input with a 68K resistor. Now the MIC input filters out LF content and thus cannot be used for a sub-audible tone. Pin 2 on the other hand, allows LF signals to pass, so I am using Pin 2 for the PL tone.

According to Ron at Bridgecom there is no filtering on pin 2, but my experience suggests otherwise.

YMMV!

Cheers,

Ramesh.
