**Announcement Manager for ASL3 – Updated Release**

Hello everyone,

I’m pleased to announce an updated release of **Announcement Manager** for AllStarLink Version 3 (ASL3).

This was built in late 2025 and debuted by Freddie Mac on his Hamradio Crusader youtube channel. This is the 'official' announcement for it here on ASL forum.

This web-based tool makes it easy to create, upload, schedule, and manage audio announcements on your ASL3 node. It works with all versions of Supermon through Supermon 8 and Allmon3 v1.9.1.

### Key Features

- Generate announcements using **Piper TTS** (native ASL3 support)
- Upload your own MP3 or WAV files
- Schedule announcements with flexible cron options (including non-standard schedules such as “second Tuesday of the month”)
- Choose **local** playback (your node only) or **global** playback (your node + all linked nodes)
- Test audio directly from the web interface
- Works on Raspberry Pi, Dell Wyse, and other x86\_64 / ARM64 systems

### Important Warning

You have the ability to play announcements **locally** on your node or **globally** across all connected nodes.  
**Please use this wisely.** Misuse of global playback can cause unwanted interference on linked systems. It is your responsibility to operate courteously.

### Installation

Bash

sudo mkdir -p /etc/asterisk/local  
cd /etc/asterisk/local  
sudo wget [https://raw.githubusercontent.com/n5ad/announcement-manager/refs/heads/main/announcement\_manager.sh](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/n5ad/announcement-manager/refs/heads/main/announcement_manager.sh)  
sudo bash announcement\_manager.sh

Follow the on-screen prompts. The installer is idempotent (safe to re-run).
