Allstar Id and courtesy tones help

Hello all

I have just managed to configure a allstar node with a cm108 sound fob connected to a quantar.
I’m looking for some information with regards to courtesy tones.
Is it normal that when the courtesy tone sounds that if a station your in qso with replies before the end of Courtesy tone the Ct will continue… is it not possible for the Ct to stop…? Is it something I’m overlooking

Thanks

While I have not enough info to form a solid opinion,
I think you might want to look at your cos signal and even perhaps make sure you use a buffer transistor on the line.
Generally, once the CT starts to play, it will play the way through, to the end and only replay if there was a signal drop again. There are delays that are settable as to the end of tx to CT and when the software starts to ack the active rx signal.

You did not state this well enough to make us fully understand the effect you are witnessing.

Courtesy tones are usually quite short. You can set them up to be as short as you want. But it is common courtesy to “wait for the beep” before transmitting. That is why they are called courtesy tones
