We continue to release updates to the ASL3 project. We start off sharing these updates with our developers, then to the “beta” package channel for those who want to test fixes to their problems or get the “latest and greatest” as quickly as possible. When we believe that the changes are OK for all we push them out to the production channel.

Before opting to install the "beta" (or "devel") packages we ask that you carefully read [Beta Testing](https://allstarlink.github.io/user-guide/betatest/) about the caveats and potential pitfalls of beta packages.

**The following ASL3 packages are now available from the "beta" channel. The following are highlights of the changes:**

NOTE: The updated `asl3-asterisk` packages include a newer version of Asterisk (22.8.2) and many changes to `app_rpt` including one BIG change. We have removed our dependency on the DAHDI kernel module!!! The package post-installation scripts **will** make a few needed changes to the `modules.conf`, `rpt.conf`, and `extensions.conf` configuration files.

**asl3 3.13.0**

- asl-telemetry: Deal with non-ASL IAX connections [PR #170](https://github.com/AllStarLink/ASL3/pull/170)
- asl-find-sound: show device serial number (if present) [PR #172](https://github.com/AllStarLink/ASL3/pull/172)
- Add a tool to exhaustively check node authentication [PR #173](https://github.com/AllStarLink/ASL3/pull/173)

**asl3-asterisk 22.8.2+asl3-3.8.2-1**

- **asterisk**

- **asl3-asterisk**

- **app\_rpt**

**asl3-menu v1.17**

- node-setup: add AIOC customizations [PR #103](https://github.com/AllStarLink/asl3-menu/pull/103)
- Ensure that the "asterisk" login exists [PR #106](https://github.com/AllStarLink/asl3-menu/pull/106)

**dahdi 3.4.0-11**

- Fixes trixie depdency issues (again) [PR #5](https://github.com/AllStarLink/dahdi-linux/pull/5)
- DAHDI Minimization for Less DAHDI Plan [PR #6](https://github.com/AllStarLink/dahdi-linux/pull/6)

These packages will be available for the next 2-3 weeks. If we do not hear of any issues or problems with the updates we will promote them to the production/main channel.

Again, please see [Beta Testing](https://allstarlink.github.io/user-guide/betatest/) for information on how to use package software and the caveats and warnings about beta test software.

Sincerely,
AllStarLink

\*\*\* UPDATE 2026.03.26 \*\*\*

We identified a couple of issues with the "beta" packages first shared on 2026.03.17. Changes to correct these issues have been included in a set of updated packages. The changes include:

**asl3-asterisk 22.8.2+asl3-3.8.3-1**

- **app\_rpt**

These packages will be available for the next 2-3 weeks. If we do not hear of any issues or problems with the updates we will promote them to the production/main channel.

Again, please see [Beta Testing](https://allstarlink.github.io/user-guide/betatest/) for information on how to use package software and the caveats and warnings about beta test software.

Sincerely,
